Articulate Bodies — Class by Carmelita Buay

This class offers a safe space to explore and push boundaries through structured movement phrases. Dive into the intricacies of optimising movement pathways to enhance clarity, flow, and precision in execution. Together, participants will investigate how articulation, release, control, and dynamism intertwine within these explorations, unlocking new dimensions of physical expression and creativity.

About the Artist:

Born in Singapore and raised in Sydney, Carmelita trained in classical and contemporary dance from a young age. She honed her skills at Sydney Dance Company’s Pre-professional Course and performed works by renowned artists like Rafael Bonachela, Gabrielle Nankivell, and Sam Coren. Carmelita has graced stages with Stephanie Lake Company’s Colossus and The Australian Ballet’s productions of The Nutcracker and The Story of Clara. With four years of teaching and choreographing at North Shore Dance Academy, she brings a wealth of experience in contemporary, classical, and commercial styles. Carmelita joined T.H.E Dance Company in January 2024.
