In this bold reimagining, acclaimed Kutiyattam artist Kapila Venu brings the legendary tale of Madurai Veeran into the classical vocabulary of Kutiyattam. Blending the emotional intensity of Tamil folklore with the aesthetics of classical form, the performance explores Veeran’s passionate love for the courtesan Vellaiyammal, his tragic fate, and eventual deification. Inspired by the Inbathuppal chapter of the Thirukkural, this work is part of the ‘inbam’ series—an ode to love, longing, and the poetic heart of Tamil tradition.

Ticketing & Admission
