Told in a contemporary style to appeal to the young and the young at heart.
A young Singaporean man has just completed his mandatory National Service and dreams of pursuing music studies overseas, eager to escape the familiar routines of home and carve out his own identity. However, as the Covid pandemic disrupts global travel and education, his carefully laid plans collapse. Forced to remain in Singapore, he struggles with feelings of frustration and uncertainty about his future.
While grappling with the limitations imposed by the pandemic, he stumbles upon fragments of his grandfather’s mysterious past, a hidden legacy tied to music with a haunting unfulfilled ambition. As he pieces together his family’s history together, to try and make sense of a man he knew little about, he begins to see echoes of his own struggles and finds inspiration in carrying forward a dream that was once silenced.
Through the awareness of this legacy, he must decide how he will live his life. Enjoy an enthralling play that takes you deep into Singapore's history, told through a rich story that sprung from the roots of its early music.
